The “Australian Beef - the Leader!” Conference has been established to showcase the results of two phases of Beef CRC research, co-funded through CRC Commonwealth and MLA funds. This includes world class scientific research carried out between 1993 and 2005. Presenters include a wide range of Australian and international scientists and beef industry professionals. All speakers are well-qualified to place these results in context for leading Australian beef businesses desiring to improve their profitability through application of scientific know-how.

The conference will coincide with the formal retirement of Professor Bernie Bindon after a very long and successful career in livestock research and research management. In commemoration of this, A “Festschrift” (in the form of a Special Edition of the AJEA) showcasing the Beef CRC’s achievements under the leadership of Bernie Bindon will be released for the first time at the Conference. In addition, A gala testimonial dinner will be held on the evening of Tuesday, 7 March 2006 to formally acknowledge Bernie Bindon’s contributions to science and the Australian livestock industries.
