Conference Themes and Speakers
Session themes for the conference will include:

Conference speakers have been chosen to appeal to a mix of leading beef industry practitioners, livestock scientists and agricultural students. Amongst those who have confirmed their presentation at the conference are well known CRC scientists who are also excellent communicators to beef industry audiences, leading Australian beef industry spokesmen and widely acclaimed international speakers, including:
- Dr Larry Cundiff ~ Research Leader, Genetics and Breeding Unit and Acting Director, Roman L Hruska Meat Animal Research Center, Clay Center, Nebraska, USA
- Professor Jim Womack ~ Distinguished Professor at Texas A&M University and W.P. Luse Professor of Pathobiology in the College of Veterinary Medicine and Leader of the Bovine Genome Project
- Mr Declan Troy ~ Director of TEAGASC, the Irish National Food Centre
- Professor Jim Kinder ~ Head of the Department of Animal Sciences, Ohio State University
- Dr Neil Clarke ~ Former General Manager of Research for Meat New Zealand
- Dr Jay Hetzel ~ CRCIII Board Member and founder of Genetic Solutions Pty Ltd, the commercialiser of the Beef CRC's genetic marker technologies
- Mr Malcolm Foster ~ Chairman of the Austrlalian Lot Feeders' Assocation and a former CRC Board Member
- Dr Heather Burrow ~ CEO-Designate of the CRC for Beef Genetic Technologies and an expert in the genetic improvement of tropically adapted beef cattle.
- Professor Mike Goddard ~ Leader of the Beef CRC’s gene marker project and a world-leading livestock geneticist
- Professor Frank Nicholas ~ an outstanding geneticist in the Faculty of Veterinary Science at the University of Sydney
- Dr David Johnston ~ A senior scientist at the Animal Genetics and Breeding Unit (AGBU) in Armidale
- Professor John Thompson ~ Professor of Meat Science at University of New England, key scientist in the MSA scheme and leader of the Beef CRC’s meat science project.
