Darwin Airport is approximately 15km from the city, or a 15-20 minute taxi ride which should cost approximately $25. An inexpensive transport for a group to and from the Darwin Airport is with the Arafura Shuttle bus. It takes 10 – 12 people (depending on luggage) and works out to approximately $5 each way per person. Contact Arafura Shuttle 08 8981 3300.
August is one of the busiest months of the year in Darwin and flights are not always available at the last minute. The organising committee encourages delegates to book their flights as early as possible.
To assist with your planning especially when choosing a full or half day field trip, we have listed below the current flights out of Darwin on Friday and Saturday. In summary, flights to Brisbane leave Darwin daily at 1:30 am, 6:10 am and 1:25 pm daily. These flights connect to Townsville and other places. Flights to Perth leave at 7:25 am and 2:20 pm daily.

Registration fees do not include insurance of any kind. It is recommended that participants take out their own general travel insurance. It is suggested that the insurance policy should also cover loss of fees/deposit, airfares, accommodation charges, medical expenses, loss or damage to personal property and repatriation expenses. The Insurance should cover loss arising from the cancellation of the conference by the organisers or a person’s inability to attend due to any reason whatsoever. No responsibility is taken by the conference managers for any person not holding insurance.
